The Story

The group Sababisha Empire is made out of three highly motivated young artists from Dar es Salaam's suburb Tegeta. Years ago BQ, Kimo D and Zungu meet each other and discover their love for music. They write their first songs and meet almost every day at the beach of the Indian Ocean, to practise their songs.

Again and again the group tries to rise the necessary funds to record single songs with local producers. Without success. Financial interests of music producers and radio DJs stop the young talents. Finally, in 2009 they meet their actual producer, who discovers their talent and contracts them with Lemongrass Records. They start immediately working on several songs. 'Twista' is Sababisha Empire's first single, released in September 2009.
